Bridleways

The Northamptonshire Definitive Map (and Statement) are the legal records of all the county's public rights of way (footpaths, bridleways, restricted byways and byways open to all traffic).

Where can you view the Definitive Map?

The Definitive Map is on deposit at the following locations:

  • Definitive Map Team, Riverside House, Riverside Way, Northampton (please contact the department if you would like to make an appointment to view the map)
  • Local Studies Room at Northampton Central Library, Abington Street, Northampton (the map can be viewed during their normal opening hours)
  • Principal offices of Northamptonshire District and Borough Council Offices (for their District or Borough only)
  • Every Parish Council in the County (for their parish only)

The countryside around Wilbarston is criss-crossed with bridleways and footpaths. The attached leaflet highlights the paths and the diversity of the surrounding countryside.

Rights of Way comes under Northamptonshire County Council who should be contacted in cases of problems.
